Avionics Technician

£35,000 basic, plus strong deployment rate
Airbotics Talent have partnered with a leading UK drone platform provider who operate on a international scale with world class technology. Our client have won several large international project which requires hiring several UAV Avionics Technicians who are motivated to work oversees on a rotation basis.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity to operate cutting edge fixed wing drones in an international environment on critical commercial and humanitarian missions. Your role will support the ongoing operations of Unmanned Systems on international projects, working alongside Drone Operator and Pilot teams to ensure continued service and support with engineering and maintenance issues on the systems.
Your will be required to
* Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs, including the assembly, inspection, and testing of UAV systems, components, and assemblies, to ensure safe operation and compliance with design specifications.
* Diagnose and resolve issues with electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components using tools such as multimeters, circuit testers, and other test equipment.
* Install and update firmware and software packages, ensuring UAV systems are up-to-date and optimized for performance.
* Conduct quality checks, including test bench evaluations, maintenance inspections, and test flights, to verify performance and functionality.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, including maintenance reports, knowledge base articles, and training materials.
* Develop and follow preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance UAV reliability.
* Provide technical support to clients and team members, offering guidance in troubleshooting and operational best practices.
* Assist in the development and execution of simulation exercises to test UAVs for real-world scenarios.
* Train and mentor others by delivering theoretical and practical maintenance training to team members and clients.
* Maintain inventory of parts and tools, ensuring availability for scheduled and emergency maintenance events.
Requirements
* A passion for aviation technology or an interest in joining the industry
* Experience in field based Maintenance either in a commercial or military (preferred) setting
* Ideal candidates will be ex-British Army or Military, currently or previously having worked in either (1) REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) - unmanned or aviation experience preferred but can also train those that have worked on ground systems and vehicles OR (2) The Navy/RAF in an Avionics Technician role.
* A positive, team focused attitude, supporting other Operators in reaching goals
* Comfortable working with both mechanical and electrical / electronic systems for MRO reactive and preventative work.
* The ability to spend time away from home in the field, both domestically or internationally, for 4-6 weeks at a time
