Job Description:
A Direct Payments parents in Pembrokeshire are looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support their young son who has Additional Learning Needs to access his community for 6 hrs per week term time, and 12 hours school holidays. It would also involve supporting the parents on outings as a family. To be worked flexibly over term time and school independently. The successful applicant should be friendly and supportive and be able to work flexibly to meet the care needs of the client.
The main duties to be included within this role are:
• Support and encourage the young boy with gaining independence and enable him to interact socially within the community.
• Support the young boy on family outings with his parents and siblings.
• Support and encourage him to try new activities and skills to improve confidence and abilities.
• Ensure safety at all times during your working period.
• Proactively maintain a safe environment on the behalf of the client.
• Provide companionship at home and engage in lively positive interaction.
• Local knowledge of activities available would be advantageous to this post, as the hours worked could be off-site within the community.
• Support and encourage with independent living skills.
• To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.
• Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and feedback any concerns to the relevant authority
• Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance

Other Requirements:
A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is required.
You must have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
