About the role
As a Cook at MHA, you will be responsible for managing the efficiency, hygiene, and safety in the catering area, organising and supervising other staff working in the kitchen while maintaining the correct HACCP principles in all catering areas and ensuring all legislative standards are met. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents daily, respecting their rights to privacy, dignity, and choice. Planning menus to provide nutritionally balanced and attractive meals and accommodating special diets when necessary. An experienced caterer is required, with good planning, budget, and stock control abilities. You will take stock of ingredients and create new recipes to keep the menu fresh!
About you
* You will hold excellent communication and people skills and have the ability to work under pressure whilst using your creativity in preparing meals.
* Prepare, cook, and serve meals for residents, visitors, and staff daily, including catering for ad-hoc events.
* You must be able to follow recipes and know the basic techniques to handle almost any food type.
* You will be working in the home of the individuals you are cooking for, allowing you to get to know their likes and dislikes.
* You must have the ability to cook to budgets.
* Be able to maintain a positive working environment and motivate the kitchen team to deliver excellent results.
