Estimator - JCT & NEC
A Building Estimator opportunity exists for a Contractor based in Co. Antrim. The company works predominately within the Education & Office Development sectors, with work based in ROI, NI and Mainland UK. This is a fantastic job role, to join a growing and steady contractor.
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Estimator will be responsible for:
1. Pricing tender enquiries for Offsite projects,
2. Following up enquiries,
3. Negotiating contracts, and
4. Preparing tender documents for submission in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include:
1. Provide a costing service at tender stage for customer and clients using Conquest estimating software.
2. Ensure that estimates prepared are cost effective and competitive within the sector.
3. Expedite quotations lists on a weekly basis and update Conquest.
4. Follow up each tender with the customer to ensure that business opportunities are capitalised.
5. Meet with Commercial and Contracts management teams weekly pre-commencement of project to formally handover project, ensuring that the correct information is transferred to Manufacturing team.
6. Price variations and extras during each contract before work proceeds.
7. Discuss and agree, in writing, variations and extras with the Commercial and Contracts Management team.
8. Collate all final costs and prepare final bill for each project.
9. Liaise with Commercial and Contracts management regularly on widening the pool of sub-contractors and suppliers.
10. Review and monitor project costs versus budgets on Conquest.
Ideally, the Estimator will have a minimum of 1-2 years experience. More experienced Estimators are also encouraged to apply.
