Reports to: Senior Registered Nurse Job Purpose: To deliver high quality palliative and end of life nursing care to patients and their families We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Palliative Care Nurse to join our dedicated team. This role involves delivering high-quality, holistic care to patients with complex palliative needs in a hospice setting. Key Responsibilities: Plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients, ensuring all practices are evidence-based. Provide specialist advice on symptom management and act as a link nurse in specific areas such as diabetes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their families. Communicate sensitively with patients, families, and carers, providing emotional support where needed. Supervise and mentor healthcare assistants, junior staff, and volunteers, promoting best practices in palliative care. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and service development projects to enhance care delivery. Ensure a safe, clean environment, adhering to health and safety, infection control, and medication management protocols. Requirements: NMC registration. Experience in palliative care or a related field. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise patient care.
