About the role · This role is responsible for leading the Technology Supplier Management team to strategically develop Royal London’s relationship and oversight with a select number of material suppliers. · You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to translate and embed corporate and local strategies into strategic account management plans with our supplier partners. · In line with policy and best practice, you will deliver a structured supplier management framework and collaborate with service owners to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, innovation, value, and cost optimisation whilst ensuring excellence in delivery performance, supply chain oversight, risk management, and robust operational resilience plans. · The role will also drive Royal London Group’s Sustainability agenda with our material suppliers, by collaborating with them and SME's in the Group on specific areas including environmental and social targets, monitoring their progress against targets and initiatives. · You should bring extensive thought leadership and be able to challenge and influence as a key contributor to the development of specific category and business area sourcing and supplier management strategies, aligning this to Royal London’s Purpose and strategic outcomes. · You will support the Head of Supplier Management in formulating the strategy, fostering engagement, and cultivating the team's culture to ensure that it continues to develop as a centre of excellence. This will involve working closely with team members to foster a collaborative and results-driven environment. By promoting best practices and ensuring the team is aligned with overall business objectives, you will help Group Procurement to achieve its goals and enhance its performance. · You will play a key role in mentoring and coaching direct reports and team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles. About you · High leadership standard, work ethic, and alignment to Royal London values to engender a culture of trust, integrity, and high performance. · Excellent people and communication skills: able to engage effectively with a range of audiences and maintain lasting relationships (internal and external) · Extensive experience in third party risk management and comprehensive knowledge of contract law and regulatory standards, e.g., Outsourcing, Operational Resilience. · Clear thinker with proven commercial acumen, strategic focus, and advanced negotiation and influencing skills. · Participate in team working and proactively identify opportunities to take ownership of activities or lead when appropriate. · Works with all areas of the group in an open and collaborative way. · Recognises and celebrates success. · Able to deputise for the Head of Supplier Management.
