Complex Needs Counsellor - Full Time, Permanent
Working Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week - you may be required to work 1 evening clinic per week, this time can be taken back in TOIL.
As a Complex Needs Counsellor at Waythrough, you will play a pivotal role in our drug and alcohol Recovery Service. You will lead a team of counsellors, providing vital counselling and psychological therapies directly to service users. Your work will be both on-site and in GP surgeries, where you will engage with individuals facing complex needs, typically involving co-morbid mental health issues alongside alcohol or substance misuse.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide individual counselling and psychological therapies to service users.
* Support service users in achieving improved psychological well-being.
* Assist service users in achieving or maintaining lower risk alcohol/substance use, or abstinence.
* Offer psychoeducation to families of service users to reduce harm, improve communication, and increase knowledge of alcohol, substance misuse, and mental health (desirable).
* Provide monthly case administration assistance to volunteer and student placement counsellors.
* Ensure compliance with risk management and clinical recording procedures.
* Collaborate closely with partners in the Haringey Addiction Recovery Treatment Service (HARTS), GP practices, the Dual Diagnosis Network, and IAPT to maintain effective treatment pathways.
Registration with one of the following professional bodies is required: BACP, UKCP, BPC, BPS, or equivalent.
