Job Purpose

Supervise the Production Technicians and provide technical and hands-on support to the team to help them meet their SQDCG goals:
Key Responsibilities
Safety
1. Ensure a safe, clean, and organized (5S) workplace is provided for all employees.
2. Implements and executes frequent department safety inspections and Gemba walks
3. Ensures the accurate completion of all accident reports.
4. Adhere and enforce adherence to the required safety regulations within the department.
Quality
5. Update work instructions and standard operating procedure documents.
6. Have a sound understanding for the relevant standard quality specifications.
7. Be able to identify processing defects and understand the possible causes suggesting and making changes to the process to avoid their re-occurrence.
8. Have a sound understanding of technical drawings.
9. Ensure all scrap is processed correctly, QC information is filled in, route cards updated, and the scrap is removed from the area as soon as possible
10. Pass any potential reworks to MRB in a timely manner and attend MRB meetings
Delivery
11. Assist with the scheduling and planning of work through the department to provide completed substrates to the coating department to plan. Attend lookahead meetings with the planning department to align schedules across all areas of manufacturing
12. Fill in daily productivity log with previous days quantities vs plan. Any cell we did not meet plan requires a valid action on the manufacturing action log
13. Agree on schedules and work with the planner and team to meet them. Prepare and execute recovery plans where appropriate.
14. Maintain Visual Display of production schedule and the relevant manufacturing columns on the backlog
15. Ensure TPM activities are being conducted as per the TPM schedules.
Cost
16. Participate in Rapid Improvement Events and implement resulting actions
17. Be able to suggest and implement ways in which to improve the manufacturing process.
18. Participate in 5S improvement activities.
19. Monitor consumable consumption and overtime to make cost savings where possible without impacting SQD
20. Ensure WIP is all accountable and each zone has the correct information on the WIP boards.

22. Ensure that team members are cross trained where possible.
23. Identify opportunities for process improvements and more efficient equipment.
24. Complete time entries and approvals, holiday requests and team evaluations within Workday
