Job overview
We are seeking to appoint two qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologists to join an enthusiastic and cohesive team. Applications are also welcomed from Trainee Clinical or Forensic Psychologists who are close to qualifying (i.e., within 6 months).
The posts are based within the Mental Health Service at Rampton Hospital. They offer the opportunity to develop skills and competencies working with male service users with complex mental health difficulties who are detained in high secure care. Applicants should feel passionately about utilising a trauma-informed approach to make a positive difference to service user experience.
Main duties of the job
1. Successful applicants will work with a specialist multi-disciplinary team providing psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for a variety of presenting difficulties.
2. The role will be supported by senior staff experienced in providing a range of therapeutic modalities and psychological approaches for this population.
3. Successful applicants will contribute to the development and evaluation of specialist therapy programmes, tailored to the complex mental health and offending behaviour needs of this population.

Person specification
Qualifications
* MSc or Doctorate in Clinical or Forensic Psychology. Must be HCPC registered and able to demonstrate eligibility for chartered status as a Clinical or Forensic Psychologist. Applications will be accepted from Trainee Clinical or Forensic Psychologists who are due to qualify (i.e., within 6 months).
* Chartered Clinical or Forensic status.
* Further relevant post-qualification training.
Further training
* Advanced knowledge, experience, and expertise in at least one specialist area of clinical/forensic practice gained through specialist training and supervised practice (e.g., psychotherapy, neuropsychology, risk assessment, clinical and forensic supervision).
* Advanced knowledge, experience, and expertise in men’s mental health services and systems gained through specialist training and supervised practice.
* Evidence of training in areas relevant to men’s forensic mental health services e.g., trauma informed care, CBTp, CBTt, Schema Therapy, EMDR.
* Experience of working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Clinical experience developing expertise in forensic clinical psychology practice, specifically applied to psychosis and/or complex trauma.
* Experience of facilitation of ward and/or multi-disciplinary based supervision groups and/or reflective spaces.
* Experience of delivering specific group programmes.
* Experience of training and supervision of staff and other psychologists.
* Experience of clinical audit, service evaluation and research.
* Experience of providing and evaluating evidence-based, highly specialist psychological interventions to address complex needs of service users in forensic mental health services.
* Record of clinical effectiveness in a forensic service.
* High level of ability to plan and organise clinical service provision to meet service demands.
* Proven ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
* IT literacy.
* Knowledge of legal system/Mental Health Act.
* Broad knowledge of psychological models of assessment, formulation and intervention relevant to forensic mental health.
* Can demonstrate competence in supervision of junior psychology and/or multi-disciplinary staff.
* Presentation and teaching skills.
* Experience of dissemination of research/service evaluation e.g., publications.
