We’re looking for
a talented Transport Supervisor to join us on a full-time, permanent basis working Monday to Friday on our morning shift; 06:00 - 15:00 at our Rochester site, for our shared user network. Through the shared service we deliver specialised freight and palletised goods. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills as a hands-on transport operations supervisor within a dynamic and collaborative team.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
1. Co-ordinate the transport operations on site to meet both network and customer expectations.
2. Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner.
3. Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business.
4. Ensuring the operation is fully resourced by using sub-contractors when needed. Coordinating and recording holidays and absences.
5. Ensure the overall smooth delivery of the operation daily and utilise the team around you.
6. Be involved in HR & health & safety cases – recruitment, investigations, disciplinaries, absences & return to works.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
7. Essential: Good understanding & experience of working within a fast-paced transport operation. (Ideally in a palletised environment.)
8. Essential: Experience in both transport operations and transport planning.
9. Essential: Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various internal and external stakeholders.
10. Essential: Experience leading people & drivers.
11. Essential: The ability to pick up new systems and use excel efficiently.
12. Desirable: CPC qualified.
