The Role
Are you passionate about storytelling through video and have a deep appreciation for art?
As our Video Editor, you'll craft compelling visual narratives that bring art to life for audiences worldwide. From social media cuts to groundbreaking documentaries, you'll help create content that inspires, educates, and entertains across multiple platforms. Formats range from captivating short films (4-15 minutes) to documentary features (60 minutes).
This position will be predominantly based in our office on Lexington Street, London. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborating with our creative teams (Producer/Director, Senior Camera Operator and social media team) to shape powerful narratives.
* Crafting visually stunning edits that elevate expert speakers and artists.
* Creating content optimised for YouTube and social media platforms, including subtitles and credits where necessary.
* Participate in music and sound design, help set the tone and source from a network of libraries.
* Using motion graphics to support storytelling in line with film narrative.
* Maintaining an organised workflow and back-ups.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Technical Expertise:
* Strong editing and colour grading skills
* Extensive knowledge and proficiency in editing software – such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop) and DaVinci Resolve
* Experience with audio synchronisation (manually and audio mixing)
* Understanding of usage and clearance requirements for archive assets and music
Creative & Personal Qualities:
* A keen eye for visual storytelling, for fresh and engaging content
* Passion for art, art history, and culture
* Self-motivated, proactive problem solver and ability to thrive under deadlines
* Strong collaborative spirit as a team player
* Meticulous attention to detail
Bonus skills:
* Experience with RED and Blackmagic cameras, using a raw workflow
* Knowledge of YouTube, social media trends, emerging platforms and technological developments.
* Ability and interest in assisting with shoots on occasion.
