Our Streets and Technology team, within our Transportation business line, has an exciting opportunity for a Streets Director to lead the delivery of transportation engineering schemes across our Central Region which includes our Southwest and Welsh market. There are six office bases within this region. We love that our clients consistently rate us highly for our work in the transportation sector, including active travel, bus priority, road safety and traffic engineering, mass transit and continue to deliver high profile, award winning and impactful projects across the region.
In this role, you will have a specific focus on operational delivery, project and resource management, workload pipeline, people management and staff engagement. Your exceptional leadership skills will be instrumental in guiding innovation and delivering a better world. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team that is passionate about providing work to clients that we are technically proud of, market leading and responds to the changing industry we are facing with rapid technological advancements and the need to respond to climate change.
You will be part of the UK and Ireland Streets Management Team and will work with the other Regions and our overseas design resource to maintain a steady workflow and to provide our clients with the best team for the project. Not all projects are based in UK and Ireland and therefore there will be opportunities to work with our colleagues in other parts of the world.
Here’s what you’ll do:
* Collaborate: Working with our Work Winning Team and other teams including across business lines to expand and enhance client relationships ensuring we are always looking to the future to maintain and grow a healthy pipeline.
* Deliver: The Streets and Technology team is responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of projects aimed at improving our streets and places for local authority clients across the UK and Ireland. We provide feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design, community engagement, project delivery and construction management services on a wide range of multi-discipline transportation and urban realm projects. In addition, we support other AECOM business lines where their projects have a specialised transportation interface.
* Oversee: Ensure that we are resourced with teams that have the right qualities to provide the services and standards that our clients expect for current and future needs.
* Provide Expertise: Offer technical knowledge and expertise to the design team on all aspects of multi-disciplinary projects, from conceptual phases to implementation.
* Ensure Quality: Working through the complexities of our Transportation projects, you will hold our clients’ hands and overcome problems in unison when they inevitably arise. Provide Health, Safety and Wellness leadership to the Region consistent with AECOM’s safety policies and procedures to deliver a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members.
Key Responsibilities:
The Streets Director will be accountable for safety, quality, ethics, people management and delivery of the operational performance of the Region; specifically, they will:
* Lead by example by visibly driving our Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) culture, ensuring effective implementation of AECOM SH&E policies and procedures throughout the region, and achievement of the SH&E core value metrics.
* Be Accountable for the Regions performance versus the Financial Year plan and outlook.
* Accountable for the accuracy of the contracted pipeline revenues for the Region by ensuring that our project and financial systems and processes are complete and accurate.
* Ensure that the Region has in place the right resource management processes, including collaboration across regions and with our Overseas Design Resource, project managers and technical experts, to provide predictable workload forecasts and allocate resources effectively to optimise project and business performance.
* Maintain a culture where AECOM is recognised as a great place to work by upholding and communicating AECOM’s values (incl. wider social values), championing equity, diversity and inclusion, promoting employee engagement, career development and succession pathways.
* Work alongside the Work Winning team to support client development and growth opportunities through mining of existing contracts, winning new business and optimising return on client account management.
* Identify and attract new talent and lead strategic and senior recruitment within the Region.
* Apply AECOM governance to all regional key pursuit Go/No Go Processes in accordance with our delegated powers.
* Drive change programs as and when to increase efficiency, profitability, and operational quality within and across regions.
* Drive project delivery and commercial excellence, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, to the right quality and to the client’s satisfaction.
* Ensure compliance with all AECOM policies and procedures and uphold our core values.

Preferred Qualification:
* Relevant degree and will ideally have a leadership qualification along with membership of a professional institution.
