The Role:
We are looking to employ someone who can support our 15 year old son on a 1:1 basis, to access the outdoor activities he enjoys, whilst also building upon his self- esteem, confidence and the ‘feel good factor’ he gets from these activities. .
Our son’s neuro diverse difficulties present him with many personal challenges, that are ‘unseen’,
except for his high energy levels, insatiability and limited focus. Previous experience of working with children/young persons with additional needs would be preferable, alongside a commitment from anyone working alongside him to learn about and appreciate his unique needs, and how best to help and support him
Main Duties:
. To assist and support with accessing his activities of interest in the community. He
enjoys outdoor activities, particularly fishing and mountain biking now, but he also enjoys many other activities.
. To help build social skills and possible opportunities to make safe and appropriate
friendships
. To help build self -esteem and self- worth.
. To help build upon his ability to trust in others where appropriate and safe
. To assist him to better understand risks and how to keep himself safe and how to
seek help as needed.

• Previous Working knowledge preferable, and a genuine commitment to learn about our sons additional needs
• Driver with access to own transport required
• We have a pet dog, and it would enhance the relationship if there was a mutual
appreciation of animals.
• Must like being outdoors – as most activities of choice are outside based.
• He gets on with males or females – but warms and engages best with individuals
who can be fun yet calm, and who can also provide the clear boundaries he needs to keep safe and
manage his emotions/behaviours that can be challenging at time.
• To communicate with us his parents and be part of the support scaffolding around
our son to meets his needs

You must be able to prove the right to work in the UK. No sponsorships are available.
Hours: 6 hours per week term time, 10 hours per week during school holidays. Weekdays Tuesday and Friday after 4pm – hours to be flexible dependent upon planned activities for that week. Possible weekends.
Pay: £12.50 per hour
