A Senior Quality Engineer is sought by a leading engineering & manufacturing business who has won significant new programmes with automotive OEM customers.
Quality Engineer - Automotive

Location: West Midlands (commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Wednesbury, Dudley, West Bromwich, Aldridge areas)
This is an interesting and varied responsibility to work for a business that designs and manufactures components and assemblies for a wide range of automotive OEM customers, so this role affords the opportunity to work on customer projects from concept through to series production.
Duties:
1. Co-ordinating and controlling investigation of Customer/Supplier complaints to enable a full understanding of the real root cause failure and corrective actions.
2. Monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of any corrective actions taken to eliminate Supplier or Customer complaints.
3. Accountable for all line quality issues - containment, corrective action, risk assessment and problem resolution.
4. Continuous monitoring of the manufacturing processes by audits, statistical analysis or any other relevant technique to support continuous improvement.
5. Provide guidance to the shop floor staff on Quality Assurance and cost-saving techniques.
Experience:
1. Applications are sought from experienced Quality Engineers with significant knowledge of production quality control and new product introduction gained within automotive tier 1 or OEM manufacturing.
2. Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
3. Ability to liaise with and manage OEM customer and supplier expectations.
4. Structured problem-solving skills - 8D, 5Y, A3, PPS.
5. Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and continuous improvement techniques.
6. Familiar with volume manufacturing processes.
7. Internal auditor experience - IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 desirable.
8. Proven ability to use quality tools such as PPAP, Control Plans, MSA and PFMEA.
