Derbyshire County Council (DCC) is at an exciting stage in the evolution of its data, digital and IT services and we are ambitious for local people and want the best outcomes for them. As a member of our MI team, you will be involved in helping us shape our services for the future, by driving forward developing data analysis developments to support evidence-based decision making.
What will I be doing?
You will be working in a team of MI officers to provide business intelligence and data performance analysis. This will include assisting in the development of robust MI methodologies and practices to ensure managers and leaders can make effective data-driven decisions. You will also be required to develop ad-hoc requests and work on business-as-usual activities, such as FOIs, statutory returns and a wide range of scheduled work.
What experience and skills do I need?
It is expected that you will have experience of working in a MI (Management Information) team, improving data quality, assisting with the development of MI frameworks, as well as working with large volumes of complex data, problem solving and working quickly with a high attention to detail. You will be self-motivated and decisive, and able to challenge and drive new initiatives forward to maximise results and outcomes for Derbyshire.
You will have knowledge and experience with using some (but not necessarily all) of these technologies to query, manipulate and present data: Excel, SQL, SSRS, PowerBI, or other similar data handling software.
It is desirable that you have knowledge or experience of extracting data from a business system or case management system, or other similar systems/software, to develop bespoke reports and analysis.
What are the working arrangements?
You can work flexibly, with an expectation of both remote working and onsite working; our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate with colleagues.
What we offer you:
* 27 days annual leave (increasing to 32 days after 5 years of service).

* Guaranteed incremental annual pay increases.
* Training and development opportunities.
* Access to a comprehensive wellbeing package.
* Cycle to work scheme.
