is now looking for a Production Manager.
Production Manager: Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Fabrication Project and Production Management
1. Oversee fabrication projects and production processes, from prototyping to large-scale bespoke projects, whether produced in-house or through external partners.
2. Serve as the primary link between the fabrication department and the project management team to ensure effective communication on live projects, resolving customer issues to their satisfaction.
3. Interpret client and staff briefs into actionable fabrication orders.
4. Take ownership of projects, ensuring collaboration and consultation with relevant departments.
5. Manage on-site builds and installations to ensure client satisfaction.
6. Uphold company policies and Health and Safety standards.
2. Job Management
1. Use MIS system to quote jobs accurately.
2. Translate orders into clear, actionable briefs for design, production, packing, and installation teams, including the creation of spreadsheets and presentations.
3. Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure project timelines are met, providing updates to clients and project managers.
4. Prepare detailed installation briefs for bespoke projects.
5. Track projects through production to ensure smooth workflow.
6. Facilitate clear communication of project requirements to manufacturers, including the use of drawings for presentation or machining as needed.
3. Core Knowledge Base
1. Working knowledge of CAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
2. Familiarity with tools, machinery, engineering principles, and production processes.
3. Strong knowledge of sustainable media practices, with a focus on waste management.
4. Ability to interpret and work with technical packs from external sources.
5. Resourcing and retail sector knowledge, particularly in visual merchandising.
6. Understanding of internal systems, policies, and procedures.
4. Essential Skills and Attributes
1. Strong time management and organizational abilities.
2. High attention to detail.
3. Ability to manage multiple, varied projects simultaneously.
5. Desirable Skills and Experience
1. Background in customer service is beneficial.
2. Experience in retail visual merchandising is ideal.
3. Knowledge of the print industry is advantageous.
4. Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
6. Teamwork and Collaboration
Positive and clear communication with all team members and leadership is essential for successful project completion.
7. Additional Responsibilities
1. Flexibility to work on additional bespoke projects as required to expand individual skills.
2. Perform tasks assigned by Directors or department heads.
3. Adhere to and promote health and safety and sustainability protocols with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
8. Learning and Adaptability
A quick learner with a proactive approach will thrive in this role, adapting to new challenges and responsibilities with ease.
