Future Teachers – Maths and English Are you passionate about working with children and young people? Are you aiming to become a teacher but need more experience in a school environment? Teaching Personnel are working alongside several large Secondary schools in the surrounding areas of Wakefield to recruit Maths and English graduates to join their Future Teachers Programme ahead of September. The ‘Future Teachers Programme’ is designed to support the recruitment of Graduates who are looking for one year of paid experience before joining a teacher training course. The ‘Future Teachers Programme’ commences in September 2025 on a full-time basis and will be guaranteed for the full academic year. This programme will provide Graduates with invaluable skills and experience necessary to become a successful teacher and will also support securing a position on an upcoming teacher training programme. Work with a small group of students in need of extra Maths/English support Deliver pre-planned Maths/English focused interventions and monitor pupils’ progress Work alongside the class teacher to plan sessions and cover lessons alongside receiving training on what is involved to become a future Maths teacher Full support and training will be provided by an ‘Outstanding Teaching School’ Application Requirements To be accepted onto the Future Teachers Programme, you must have a Maths or English degree or be coming to the end of the final year of your Maths or English degree. Previous experience working with children and young people is desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided. Following the completion of the Future Teachers Programme, successful Graduates will be supported onto a Schools Direct/teacher training course.
