Operational: 1. Negotiate long term agreements for NPI and Series production components 2. Select suppliers for NPI and Series production components through effective use of proven procurement skills in an automotive environment 3. Formulate and implement relevant commodity strategies taking into account the Sales Forecast, LRP and known Market Conditions, 4. Recommend supplier process utilization by interpreting blueprints and evaluating customer needs 5. Evaluate part designs with engineering, quality and suppliers to obtain maximum efficiencies and best costs. 6. Develop and report weekly KPI’s to measure progress against corporate goals 7. Develop and maintain a system to show benchmark component cost data 8. Understand market trends including competitor Sourcing and the Global Supply Base for specific commodities 9. Control short and long term capacity management at Local Suppliers and Support Capacity management at Global Suppliers in conjunction with the relevant GCM 10. Lead crisis management activities 11. Support Global corporate purchasing activities 12. Project work as appropriate and other duties as assigned Reporting: 1. To plan, organise, track and disseminate information related to production suppliers. 2. To maintain complex spread-sheets containing supply base data. 3. To maintain confidentiality of all work and personnel matters. 4. Responsible for ensuring all actions contribute positively to the Company’s overriding objective of quality, by complying at all times with any relevant procedure that pursues this aim. Required Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field (preferable) 3 years purchasing experience within the automotive industry Computer literate (MS Office). Good written, verbal and presentation skills. Excellent negotiation skills. Proven ability to develop and execute Commodity Strategies Experience of International Purchasing (preferable).
