The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust has 2 neonatal units, level 2 at Barnet Hospital site with 30 cots including Intensive care and High dependency cots. A level 1 Neonatal unit at The Royal Free Hospital site with 14 Special Care cots, with 2 designated Emergency cots, for stabilisation before transfer. The units have friendly, motivated and dynamic teams that promote developmental care. You would be contacted for shifts at both neonatal units within the trust.
Within this role as a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you would be expected to work with minimal supervision in a QIS capacity, supervising junior staff by acting as a role model and trainer. You would also be expected to continue personal nursing development, ensuring that your practice is evidence based and up to date.
As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you will also be able to choose a flexible working pattern to suit your work life balance in a variety of clinical settings working as part of a committed multidisciplinary team.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To undertake all nursing procedures and practises in accordance with Neonatal Unit policies and in conjunction with the Trust's policies. To ensure that all team members understand and follow the policies.
2. To assess individual care needs, develop, implement and evaluate care given to neonates and their families in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
3. To recognise maternal post-natal complications and summon appropriate assistance.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENTS
1. To participate in the assessment, planning and provision of skilled nursing care in line with our family centred care approach.
2. To work in partnership with parents and other carers, empowering them to help safely care for their child.
3. To act as an advocate for the children and their families.
