The Role
As a Management Accountant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Supporting the Police Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF) contract Finance Managers. This is a key role within the business with a focus on increased controls around budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
Day-to-day, you’ll be expected to liaise with the Land Sector Shared Service team (SSC), FBS, Operations and Senior Management teams; this role is the link between Finance and the contract. Cost and revenue drivers from the training operations need to be properly understood and communicated in the business:
1. Reporting of the contract or site monthly accounts, budgets, forecasts and strategic plans.
2. Deputising for the Finance Manager when required.
3. Key member of contract / site Business Facing Finance team.
4. Supporting identified continuous improvement projects on behalf of the Finance function.
5. Identifying opportunities to improve the service.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and requires regular travel to London, on a monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Essential Experience of the Management Accountant:
6. Ability to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review.
7. Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed.
8. Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio and Outlook.
9. Experience with Finance IT applications (e.g. SAP, NAV (Navision, IFS etc.).
10. Excellent communication skills particularly communication at senior levels and with the ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-Finance managers and staff.
Qualifications for the Management Accountant:
11. Ideally, you will hold a recognised accounting professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, ACMA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS) or equivalent / similar.
