TrueNorth are exclusively working with a stable and growing company on a transformation journey, who are looking for an ambitious candidate to lead a new function for the organisation.
Following a successful merger, the organisation has created new QA Automation Team which will support each key business area. As the Senior QA, you will be the champion of quality for the product team, driving innovation, automation, and continuous improvement. You will join us to help form a modern QA approach that blends cutting-edge testing techniques with relentless focus on customer satisfaction.
You will be responsible for:
* Quality assurance within software development: Lead quality assurance and guidance within the product team. Provide early feedback on quality. Build and maintain
automation tests and manual testing processes. Conduct performance, security, and regression, and operational acceptance testing to ensure application stability and robustness.
* Release management: Liaise with Subject Matter Experts to confirm releases are
production ready, including supporting any additional acceptance testing within non- production environments. Assist with release documentation, release process
management and live proving to confirm successful production deployment.
* Continuous service improvement: Help drive collaboration across different roles both within the team and the wider teams to enable consistent solutions, strategies, understanding requirements and release timelines. Understand production issues, help with defect tracking and resolution. Challenge assumptions and suggest strategic
improvements including production monitoring.
* Personal development: Stay updated with latest regulatory requirements and industry best practices and integrating them into the test processes where appropriate.
Key skills and experience required:
* Personal attributes: Testing mindset– strong understanding of how applications are built (particularly .Net and Microsoft Azure applications) and hence can be tested. Customer centric, identify the business need from requirements and
recognise where risks in applications could exist.
* Technical proficiency: Proven record of building and extending automation test framework using C#, .NET Framework, object-oriented programming, page object model, Specflow, NUnit, and Selenium. Hands-on skills in SQL Server querying, REST API testing, ELK for log analysis, Azure Devops Pipelines, Git, Visual Studio are beneficial to be effective in the role. Taking ownership of test and application assets in non-production environments.
* Agile Expertise: Proven track record in Agile/Scrum environments, with strong knowledge of CI/CD methodologies.
* Collaboration & Communication: Confident on using MS Teams, Slack and maintaining clear and concise documentation using Azure DevOps Boards and Confluence. A greatteam player who can collaborate with third partysuppliers. Work with developers/QAs to review unit/integration/end-to-end tests.
The role is paying up to £55,000 per annum (dependant on experience) plus 7.5% bonus and excellent benefits including at 15% pension contribution.
It will be based from their newly refurbished central Newcastle office and will operate a hybrid working policy of 2/3 days per week in the office.
