Job Description:
Job Purpose/Overview
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Technician is responsible for leading loss elimination within the Value Stream and is critical to support the TPM methodology to deliver the site’s strategy.
The CI Technician analyses line data to identify, prioritise and deliver loss elimination opportunities. They also lead root cause problem-solving efforts, take actions with a zero loss mindset for their area of responsibility and coach teams on basic problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Focused improvement - Problem Solving
1. Solving operational problems using Focused Improvement methodology and coaching basic problem solving initiatives.
2. Active participation, leadership and coaching of projects/task group exercises aimed at improving the lines results (safety, Quality, performance, People, Costs).
3. Implementation and coaching of improvements through cooperation across functions including Engineering, Reliability/maintenance, R&D, TPM methodology and management of work of external contractors.
4. Preparing initial concept of Small minor projects resulting from Value stream’s strategy and implementing where appropriate.
5. Creating, updating and supervising factory documentation/instructions including Generating operational standards (SOPs, 5S, CIL and centerlines.)
6. Implementation of other activities resulting from the SSIP or Corrective actions and preventative actions.
Focused Improvement – Loss Analysis
1. Data analysis aimed at identifying losses and their sources.
2. Implementation & supervision of tools/systems for measuring, controlling and increasing the efficiency of production lines.
3. Key user for systems.
4. Verification of the effectiveness of improvement projects and the benefits resulting from them.
Factory management operations system.
1. Active participation and coaching.
2. Owning performance KPIs.
Job Specifications/Qualifications
At least 2 years in a TPM manufacturing environment.
Preferred: degree in engineering, supply, business or technical field of study.
