The Regional Medical Director, EMEA will be on the Global Health Services team as part of Global Well-being and Benefits in Colleague Total Rewards and Well-being (CTRW). As a key member of Health Services team, this person will be responsible for health initiatives across the region and the strategic design and execution of award-wining, best in class programs, creating a roadmap of health for colleagues and their families at American Express by working with internal and external partners. How you will make an impact in this role? The ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership on the company's health and well-being initiatives across EMEA, including, but not limited to: Lead and manage onsite wellness centers and vendors Identify population health trends and priorities Provide clinical insight on the design of our colleague health and well-being programs Design and manage health initiatives by ensuring standards of patient care through quality assurance monitoring Develop key metrics & dashboards to manage impact of health initiatives Work directly across the region to design, implement, execute and evaluate programs in support of our strategy by fostering a culture of continuous improvement of health such as through annual physicals, screening programs, seasonal flu clinics and collaboration with 3rd party providers to provide services Provide medical subject matter expertise to inform health plan design and population health and collaborate with regional teams to optimize the effectiveness of our health plans Deliver services that provide access for colleagues to support prevention and compliance in their overall health care needs such as administration of business travel consultation and vaccinations, Allergy shots, and phlebotomy services Collaborate on regional mental health strategy Work together with Workplace Safety and market leaders to identify and mitigate occupational health and safety risks while meeting local regulations as well as help manage First Aid and AED programs, workplace injuries and disability adjustments Provide support and guidance to key stakeholders in the instance of medical emergencies Work directly with enterprise Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Crisis Response Teams (CRT), and Crisis Management Teams (CMT) across the region to provide strategic leadership and guidance to managing communicable diseases, and various other scenarios Work with local Country Executive Teams (CET) to support health and well-being initiatives Represent the Company / provide input for discussions with Works Councils on health-related matters Plan and operates all aspects of the Wellness Centers' needs and manage budget Participate in strategic planning and decision-making at the executive level, working closely with other senior leaders Stay current with the latest trends and innovations in healthcare, and foster a culture of ongoing learning and development Minimum Qualifications A Medical Degree with post graduate training and Board Certification in Occupational Medicine and/or in General Medicine or in other relevant specialties An advanced degree in business or public health - Preferred Must meet requirements for medical licensure in the United Kingdom; ability for additional licensure across the EU is a positive Significant years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, including a number of years in a leadership role Broad healthcare experience, having worked across multiple country landscapes in a complex environment, focused on improving the health of employees Experience with managing 3rd party Occupational Health Providers and other wellness vendors with proven track record of successfully managing and driving clinical excellence Demonstrated experience in strategy development, execution and delivery of outcomes Demonstrated ability to lead and direct an organization through various health challenges (e.g. epidemics, communicable diseases) Demonstrated success in articulating, evaluating and reporting goals and achievements, areas of improvement and measuring returns on investments Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships and work effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization Excellent communicator, with written, verbal and presentation skills that can be tailored to multiple audiences Adept at navigating nonclinical company and clinical regulatory requirements Manage department budgets and administrative roles Ability to travel nationally and internationally We back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
