Join IRIS Software Group as a Sanctions Manager, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our business meets its regulatory obligations. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise in sanctions compliance to a fast-growing organisation, working with senior stakeholders to shape policies, provide expert guidance, and support ongoing risk management efforts.
In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for sanctions-related advice, ensuring our policies and procedures stay up to date with UK and international regulations. You’ll work closely with teams across the business, reviewing Know Your Customer (KYC) escalations, providing training, and advising on complex sanctions matters. Your work will help protect IRIS from financial crime risks and support our commitment to responsible business practices.
What Will You Be Doing?
* Keeping sanctions policies and procedures up to date, ensuring compliance with UK and international regulations.
* Delivering sanctions training to employees across the business, making sure they understand the latest requirements.
* Reviewing KYC team escalations, providing timely advice, and escalating higher-risk cases when necessary.
* Supporting the MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) in maintaining and updating customer risk assessments.
* Collaborating with colleagues in AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and ABC (Anti-Bribery and Corruption) to conduct annual financial crime risk assessments.
* Advising teams on sanctions-related issues, ensuring the right procedures and controls are in place.
* Staying up to date with the latest sanctions legislation and regulatory guidance, applying best practices to IRIS’s operations.
What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for a sanctions expert who brings:
* Experience working in a financial crime or investigatory role within a regulated environment.
* Detailed knowledge of international sanctions laws and regulations, including the UK Sanctions and Money Laundering Act.
* Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
* A proactive approach to providing training and ensuring compliance across the business.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage senior management and handle challenging conversations.
* The ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines effectively.
* An ICA (or similar) qualification is preferred but not essential.
