You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician or The Science Council as a Science Manufacturing Technician.
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual, who is an excellent team player, flexible, self-motivated, and able to demonstrate professionalism, excellent organisational and communication skills. You must be able to work accurately, quickly and under pressure, have a good eye for detail, be able to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and be committed to deliver a high standard patient focused service.
This role will include 1 in 5 Saturday working as part of a rota. Bank Holiday and On call working as part of a rota. Posts will be based at the Oxford Road Campus, with the requirement of working across our other site at Wythenshawe.
Applications are welcome from Pharmacy Technicians/ Science Manufacturing Technicians qualifying this summer or from registered pharmacy technicians in community settings who wish to develop their career at MFT.
This is a progressive role depending on experience and begins as a Band 4 but will progress to Band 5 on completion of agreed criteria.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with Aseptic Services Specialist Senior Technicians, you will lead a team of technical staff and coordinate the preparation and supply of aseptically prepared products. Committed to high standards, you will ensure an efficient, safe and effective service is provided to patients. You will contribute to our ethos of providing a positive, forward-thinking, and professional working environment in which staff work with each other and for each other. As a valued member of the team, you will be supported to develop your knowledge of aseptic services and managerial skills to progress in your career.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ3 / BTEC in Pharmacy Services or Equivalent nationally recognised qualification or Science Manufacturing Technician qualification
* Registered with the GPhC or the Science Council
* Leeds University Aseptic Preparation of Medicines (APDM) short course
* Relevant post qualification Aseptic Services training and courses
Registration
* Registered with the GPhC/ the Science Council (SMT)
Knowledge and Experience
* Substantial post qualification experience as a technician in hospital pharmacy and experience as an Aseptically trained technician
* Good working knowledge of safe dispensing and aseptic practices.
* Evidence of supervising staff and workload on a day-to-day basis
* Evidence of active involvement in service development
* General awareness of what the role involves
* Knowledge and understanding of GMP and QA and its application to Aseptic processing
* Relevant post qualification Aseptic Services, experience courses and training
Skills
* Good Interpersonal Skills to promote good customer service.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Demonstrate good time management and organisational skills.
