Position Overview We are seeking a Children's Senior Support Worker/ Team Leader who is committed to promoting the well-being, development, and positive outcomes for children in our care. In this key role, you will support and mentor junior staff, create individualised care plans, and help children build life skills and confidence. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one support to a solo-placement child in various settings, including educational and recreational activities. Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to meet each childs unique needs and goals. Maintain a safe and nurturing environment by monitoring behaviour and promptly addressing any concerns. Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive care approach. Drive children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety and well-being during transport. Maintain accurate, detailed records of interactions and progress, and report any significant changes or concerns to relevant personnel. Guide and support junior staff, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment. Collaborate with colleagues to create engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that promote learning and social skills. Participate in training and development opportunities to continually enhance skills and adhere to best practices in child care. Qualifications and Requirements Previous experience working with children in a residential or support role is essential. Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting positively with children, families, and team members. Proficiency in IT for maintaining records and effective communication. A valid drivers license is preferred for transporting children as needed. NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant field is essential. A caring attitude, genuine passion for supporting childrens well-being, and the resilience to handle challenges with empathy and professionalism.
