As an experienced Architect, you will be working with our Virgin Money Integration (VMI) Team as a key player in designing and architecting the integration of Nationwide Building Society and Virgin Money HR systems.
You will use your technical expertise to lead on the creation of technical artefacts, enabling high quality (technical/business) solutions to be delivered at pace, along with your hands-on experience of ERP and HR solutions.
You will be working with Architecture Leads to shape and design solutions, using existing technology guardrails and use cases for creating architectural diagrams and patterns.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon or London office. What you’ll be doing
As a Solution Architect in the VMI technology sub-domain, you will work with the Head of People Data and Technology, Senior Architect, engineers, business stakeholders and project teams to provide solution design and assurance for assessing opportunities and recommending decisions for integrating Nationwide Building Society and Virgin Money HR systems.
* Analyse the current state of the VM (Virgin Money) and NBS (Nationwide Building Society) HR systems including downstream integrations.
* Create and own the target state roadmap.
* Identify opportunities for re-use, integration or merging of the two systems.
* Document the options with pros, cons and recommendations.
* Identify and plan for efficiency gains and economies of scale.
* Align your recommendations with NBS technology guardrails.
* Apply your knowledge of best practices for HR systems such as employee, training/learning, benefits, rewards, payroll, recruitment etc.
* Creation and management of ‘architecturally significant questions’ (ASQ’s).
You will be using your leadership skills and Subject Matter Expertise knowledge to work with stakeholders and peers to understand and influence how the technical infrastructure deliverables coincide with activities both within and without the team and when required providing designs/solutions to align with engineering principles and architectural strategy.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
* A proven track record in providing architectural leadership, technical security design and delivery of resilient solutions.
* Demonstrable experience in an architecture or engineering practice.
* A strong technical background (e.g. solution design and development).
* Providing guidance and solution assurance as part of project governance.
* Reviewing and approving architectural design and configuration documents as part of ongoing peer review.
* Participating in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
You will have knowledge & experience of the following:
* Experience of HR systems (ideally Oracle HCM Cloud) and working with HR stakeholders.
* Working in a highly regulated environment and ensuring solutions are compliant.
* Participating in ‘proof of concept’ projects to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
* Working with on-Premises and Cloud (e.g. PaaS, SaaS solutions).
* Networking and Infrastructure security concepts.
* Working with 3rd parties / suppliers.
