Hunter Mental Health is currently working alongside an excellent Child Protection Team and assisting in their search for a locum Senior Social Worker. We are looking for a number of SWs with at least 3 years post-qualifying agency social workers to join our CASP, CP, PLO, and Court team. While we continue to offer flexible, hybrid working hours, many staff enjoy being in the office, which provides the pre-COVID team support and office spirit.
The team manager and principal social worker have both been in their roles for a number of years and offer a wide range of experience and skills, high levels of support, guidance, and advice. The team comes with varying levels of experience, both as qualified and unqualified. The team has a second PSW who case-holds court cases but also provides additional support to the team and team manager. We are looking for experienced social workers for both the Intake teams and Locality (long-term teams) who can work with children whose names are placed on the Child Protection Register, families under Pre-Proceedings (PLO), and Court cases. You will be working in a busy, supportive skilled team that aims to make a positive impact on children and their families to improve their safety and well-being.
Key details of the position:
* Job Title - Registered Social Worker (MUST have 2 years post AYSE experience)
* Location - Cardiff
* Duration - 3 months ongoing
* Schedule - Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
* Start Date - January 2025
* Rate of pay - £36 - £38 ph (Umbrella)
The ideal candidate should have the following attributes:
1. To carry out assessments and undertake care management in the area of specialism (Disabled children and their families).
2. To make recommendations for service provision in accordance with the Children services threshold and eligibility criteria.
3. To provide a social work service to designated service users.
4. To manage, monitor, and review care plans, involving disabled children and young people and their families, and liaising with other workers and agencies as appropriate.
5. To work at all times within the Council's Financial regulations.
6. To be aware of the resources available within the specialist area, including other sources of funding, so that the maximum benefit may be obtained for families within the budgetary resources of Children Services.
7. To comply with the Children Services recording policy and to complete appropriate forms and documents as required.
8. To make use of management information systems, including information technology, in the recording, retrieval, and analysis of information as required.
9. To be managed by and receive supervision from the immediate line manager/designated person and to be assessed against agreed standards and targets.
10. To undertake training as required and be proactive in undertaking activities to enhance professional development.
Requirements and qualifications required for this role:
* Current and valid registration with the SWE.
* Proven experience within a Social Working role.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
* Car driver to travel across multiple sites.
* Fully on-site and hybrid/remote working to be discussed during the interview (team can offer up to 2-3 days remote).
