Full-Time Humanities Teacher – Southampton, Hampshire A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time Humanities Teacher at a secondary school in Southampton. The pay rate for this role is between £30,000 and £50,000 per year, depending on experience. The position offers a permanent contract following a successful probation period, with a start date from Easter 2025 or September 2025, based on your availability. The school welcomes applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators. As a Humanities Teacher, you will have the opportunity to teach engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will help develop students’ critical thinking skills and enhance their understanding of the world through a variety of topics. Your role will involve planning, delivering, and assessing lessons while supporting students to achieve their best. Responsibilities of the Humanities Teacher: Teach a broad curriculum in History, Geography, and Religious Education (RE) at KS3 and KS4. Plan, prepare, and deliver effective and engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum. Provide regular assessments and constructive feedback to support student development. Foster an inclusive classroom environment and manage behaviour effectively. Participate in the planning and development of the school’s Humanities curriculum. Support students in their academic and personal growth through pastoral care and mentoring. Work collaboratively with the wider school team to enhance student learning and development. Requirements of the Humanities Teacher : Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (ECTs welcome to apply). Experience teaching Humanities subjects at the secondary level (preferred but not essential). Strong subject knowledge in History, Geography, and Religious Education. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
