Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Backlog Officer for a Local Authority Client based in Berkshire. In this role, you will provide advice on the Council's Allocations Scheme, manage the housing allocation process, assess applications, and ensure properties are matched efficiently while adhering to housing legislation and policies. Key Duties: Manage the housing allocation process, assess applications, determine banding awards, and ensure compliance with legislation. Allocate accommodation through direct matching, prioritising medical needs, under-occupiers, delayed discharges, and homeless households. Liaise with Housing Associations and key stakeholders to coordinate void and new build property allocations. Maintain accurate records and systems, using NEC (Northgate), Civica, and Jigsaw, while providing strong administrative support. Qualifications and Experience: The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience: Experience with housing allocation systems such as NEC (Northgate), Civica, and Jigsaw. Strong knowledge of housing legislation and regulations, particularly regarding allocations and nominations. Proven ability to make decisions on housing applications, including eligibility and banding awards. Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with experience managing case files, data, and liaising with stakeholders.
