Our client, based in Skegness, have an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Commercial Conveyancing Fee Earner to join their growing conveyancing department. The successful candidate will undertake fee earning work in the commercial conveyancing department. Candidates will also work closely with the Head of Department to ensure the successful development of the department is in line with the company’s business plan.
Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm with an hour for lunch.
Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Location: Office based, with Homeworking options considered after successful completion of probationary period.
Role Duties
• Manage effectively commercial conveyancing matters from start to finish with minimal daily supervision, demonstrating judgement and independent decision making.
• Perform fee earning work accurately and in accordance with the client’s quality risk management procedures, ensuring to meet client expectations throughout.
• Ensure proper control of work in progress, billing and recovery fees.
• Strong organisational skills, with a client-focused approach to your work.
• Be proficient in legal research and drafting, with ability to pay attention to detail and maintain accuracy of work.
• Assist Head of Department with management of junior members.
• Keep up to date with changes and developments in area of law and ensure compliance with CPD requirements.
Requirements and Relevant Experience
• Minimum of 2 years recent PQE or equivalent experience handling own commercial conveyancing files from start to finish.
• Require minimal day to day supervision in dealing with commercial conveyancing matters in the following areas:
o Commercial Sales and Purchases
o Commercial Leases and Extensions
o Declaration of Trusts and Loan Agreements
o Deed of Covenants
o License to Assign, Underlet and Alter
o Commercial Lending
o Transfers
• Requirement to assist the residential conveyancing team with casework, with CV demonstrating minimum of 2 years’ experience handling residential conveyancing cases from start to finish.
• Knowledge of Share-Holder Agreements and Company Law
