The Role: We are on the lookout for a highly motivated IT Senior DevOps Engineer to join our IT department. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative team setting, assisting & working closely with our international IT teams, is passionate about technology, feels comfortable in a dynamic working environment and enjoys facilitating the success of the surrounding team. The role is hands-on, providing 2nd & 3rd line IT support, covering all aspects of DevOps processes. The role will include the following activities: • Analysing cutting edge and industry standard DevOps tools and practices • Establishing, maintaining, and participating in international collaborations • Designing, delivering & maintaining new or improved IT systems & DevOps solutions • Installing, configuring and administration of operating systems and applications • Deployment, implementation, configuration, management, testing, monitoring and administration of CI/CD workflows & hardware platforms • Maintaining operations & administration • Continually identifying & managing system and process improvements • Training, mentoring & providing guidance to team members • Prioritising, organising and balancing important tasks and any additional duties as required, commensurate with the role • Hybrid working pattern (3 days per week working from home & 2 days per week working in our Liverpool office) • Weekend on-call support (1-2 days per month on a rota basis) The Person: You will need a minimum of c.5 years’ experience demonstrating competence in the activities listed above, a keen interest in IT trends, enthusiasm for technological developments & a passion for developing your IT career. A relevant qualification (such as a BSC or BA in Computer Science) would be a distinct advantage. Essential Skills: • Experience of supervising & mentoring junior members of a team • Linux administration • Containers such as Kubernetes & Docker • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Programming Languages • CI / CD toolsets: Terraform, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef or Puppet • AWS / GCP cloud formation & on-premises administration • Source Control & Code Tracking (Gitlab & GitHub) • Load Balancers such as Nginx & Haproxy • Monitoring tools • RabbitMQ • Elasticsearch Desirable Skills: • MySQL • Databases such as MongoDB, NDB Cluster & Couchbase • ITIL • Ticketing systems, such as Jira or Service Now • Networking & systems security Rewards: We take pride in ensuring that all team members receive the very best support and company benefits.
