To meet these challenges, we are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Water team.
What will you be doing as our new Lead Electrical Engineer?
You will provide technical direction to electrical discipline engineers, support design schemes, and ensure all designs comply with legislation and standards. You will review electrical design deliverables, ensure quality, and mentor junior team members.
Key Accountabilities:
* Report regularly to the Principal Engineer.
* Coordinate with project managers for project milestones and review dates.
* Check specifications, drawings, and models for quality and safety standards.
* Mentor and coach junior electrical engineers.
* Review site and supply chain queries, ensuring quick and accurate responses.
* Participate in CDM and commissioning meetings.
* Collaborate on process improvements with the team.
* Coordinate with other departments regarding design requirements.
* Manage quality through the design process according to project timelines.
* Support other engineers to meet standards.
* Promote sustainability and low-carbon designs.
* Encourage offsite build, modular construction, and repeatable solutions.
Your skills, experience, and behaviors
Applicants should have a degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience, with Chartered status or working towards it preferred. Experience in water-sector assets, BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition, mentoring, and design & build environments are advantageous. Leadership qualities include integrity, respect, stakeholder engagement, emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and technical expertise.
