Job Overview
We are looking for suitably qualified nurses to join our proactive team. Equally, if you are a newly qualified nurse who would like a career in acute nursing, we are happy to support you to ensure you flourish. We have dedicated Education Facilitators who ensure that all staff are trained and equipped to work within the ever-changing ward environment. Newly qualified nurses will have a 12-month preceptorship with one of our experienced staff.
Main Duties
1. To contribute to the delivery of quality patient care by participating in and providing the assessment, planning, provision, and evaluation of individualised care.
2. To assist in the admission, transfer & discharge of patients in accordance with local policy.
3. To participate in developing and monitoring standards of care and other quality initiatives positively.
4. To fulfil the role of the departmental triage nurse, utilising advanced skills of assessment, prioritisation, decision-making, risk management, and communication skills.
5. To always be caring, approachable, and display a consistently professional manner.
6. Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse with current NMC Registration (RGN)
* IV Drug Administration Certificate or Competencies
Desirable criteria
* Teaching and Assessing Qualification/Training, or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Knowledge of the skills required to undertake the role.
* Knowledge of current professional and clinical issues.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
Desirable criteria
* Post registration experience within an acute setting.
* Previous experience in Acute Medicine.
