As an Application Support Developer at the NHS Business Services Authority, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing applications that underpin vital healthcare services across the UK. You will provide day to day support for applications in use by the NHS, by troubleshooting problems, resolving issues and guiding users. Main duties of the job
NHSBSA Technology Services has a number of IT services that it develops and supports, both digital and classic in nature.
As an Applications Support Developer your role will be to provide a range of IT skills underpinned by theory in providing support and continuous improvements to existing services, and to support the development of new services across the organisation.
In this role you will provide 2nd and 3rd line support to end users. You will be involved in manual and automated testing, cloud deployment, database design and lifecycle support. You will be required to evaluate requirements of a range of work to inform the development of applications and services. You will monitor and support the effective running of bespoke services, third-party applications and configurable off the shelf products. Using incident, problem, request and change management processes and systems to support the successful implementation of system enhancements and fault resolutions.

Specialist skills
1. Evaluating, analysing, and interpreting requirements across a range of work to inform development of applications and services.
2. Applying the appropriate methods and procedures throughout the full development lifecycle in accordance with IT standards and customer requirements.
3. Developing and delivering features and benefits into applications to support continuous improvements to applications and services
4. Monitoring and supporting the efficient and effective running of bespoke services, third-party applications and configurable of the shelf products (CoTS) and services.
5. Using incident, problem, request and change management processes and systems to support the successful implementation of system enhancements and fault resolutions, in a timely manner.
