Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Financial Business Process Improvement & Governance Lead to drive efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness within our finance operations. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of how business process and financial processes combine and produce materially important information for the business to operate from. You will have a keen eye for optimisation, and a passion for leveraging technology to streamline workflows.
Principal Accountabilities:
Design, Analysis, and Review:
1. Process Mapping and Optimization: Conduct in-depth assessments of existing financial processes, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to optimize data flows and information insights. Design and implement solutions to streamline workflows, from approvals to reporting.
2. Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze data to identify root causes of inefficiencies, estimate the potential impact of improvements, and enhance the speed and accuracy of information provided to the business.
3. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor performance through KPIs and forward-looking insights, reported to key stakeholders. Prioritize improvement opportunities to enhance decision-making capabilities.
4. Impact Assessment: Review the impact of improvements made against established success criteria.
Delivery and Implementation:
5. Project Management: Develop and present quarterly plans and progress reports, managing business demand and prioritizing improvement initiatives.
6. Process Improvement: Own the delivery of process improvements to increase the accuracy and completeness of financial information.
7. Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of implemented improvements, ensuring success criteria are met and identifying further optimization opportunities.
Teamwork and Collaboration:
8. Continuous Improvement Culture: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback and suggestions.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with procurement, project managers, and IT to identify and implement suitable technologies to automate tasks, improve data integrity, and accelerate the achievement of targets.
10. Change Management: Work with the People Team to support the business in change management initiatives, ensuring stakeholder adoption of new processes and systems.
11. Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, building strong relationships and influencing decision-making.
Job requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
12. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
13. Proven experience in financial process improvement, business analysis, or a similar role.
14. Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
15. Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, data visualization tools).
16. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
17. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
19. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking.
Our state of the art, sustainable campus offers many facilities including a gym, restaurant and indoor and outdoor break-out areas, as well as direct access to park and common land. The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
