We are looking for 2 new technicians to join us- A Product Development (Formulation) Technician and an Analytical Lab Technician.
These are both entry level roles and are ideally suited to an enthusiastic individual looking to start a career in Research & Development from the ground up. GCSE/ A levels is the minimum requirement for these roles as on the ground training will be provided. This would suit motivated candidates eager to learn with a strong attention to detail and an interest in the pharma environment.
A Day in the Life of our Development Technician
Starting off:
1. Working as part of a team in the development of drug delivery systems or supporting testing with the analytical team. Working in a specialised production area and in a laboratory on a daily basis.
2. Operating, maintaining and cleaning laboratory and production equipment as required
3. Maintaining accurate records of Lab work/experiments and production records
4. Working within the production area combining medicines and medical components, making capsules, tablets, as well as more complex drug delivery systems, including testing and packing etc or calibrating instruments and assisting in sample stability management
5. Following written and verbal instructions
6. Communicating with other departments
Developing into:
7. Assisting Scientist(s) in the development and testing of drug delivery systems. These duties will range from laboratory to production scale.
8. Assist in the functioning of the formulation or of the analytical laboratory and manufacturing areas, which will include calibration of equipment and maintenance of quality systems.
9. Maintenance of Formulation or Analytical Laboratory and Manufacturing areas to required standards
10. Maintaining quality systems within the department
11. Performing basic laboratory testing activities (such as weight tests, pH measurements, disintegration, refractive index, etc.).
12. Calibration/Qualification of equipment
13. Performing duties by following written instructions in the form of SOPs and verbal instructions from Senior members of the team
14. To carry out other activities as assigned by Senior Management
Who we are looking for

15. Educated to GCSE level / A Level standard or equivalent?
16. Science Technology Engineering Maths (STEM) or similar subjects (desirable)?
17. Motivated and enthusiastic to start your career in a pharma environment?
Do you have?
18. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, discounts, interest, proportions, percentages?
19. Proven experience in following procedures and guidelines?
20. Strong attention to detail?
21. Willing to work in a controlled environment?
22. Ability to demonstrate good organizational and interpersonal skills?
23. Ability to demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills?
24. Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining an even disposition?
25. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form?
26. Ability to effectively discuss information and respond to questions from managers and colleagues?
27. Able to demonstrate IT literacy-MS office experience?
