Position: Embedded Engineer
Salary: Up to £50,000
Location: Malton, Yorkshire (Hybrid Work from Home)
About the Role:
Our award-winning client is expanding their engineering team and is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join their office, just north of York. This role offers flexible hybrid working, with the expectation to attend the office once a week. As an Embedded Engineer, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of the complete design process, from initial concept through to testing and manufacturing, working alongside a small, talented team.
The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified with several years of industry experience. Your expertise will include Embedded C programming, bare metal development, and knowledge of various communication protocols (SPI, I2C, RS232, Ethernet, etc.). Experience with PIC and/or ARM microcontrollers is essential. While not required, experience with electronics design, LabVIEW, or developing data acquisition systems would be highly beneficial.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Embedded Engineer who thrives on variety and enjoys collaborating with a dynamic, award-winning team. Your primary focus will be developing embedded software solutions for bespoke control systems, enhancing existing products, and driving new product development. You'll be involved in all stages of the process-from high-level architecture to low-level implementation-and will play a key role in customer support and generating detailed documentation.
Skills and Experience Required:
Embedded C programming
Bare metal development
Experience with RS232, SPI, CAN, RS485, I2C
Familiarity with ARM and/or PIC Microchip microcontrollersDesirable Experience:
