A highly respected and well-established construction consultancy has just began branching out into Health & Safety and CDM services. They are seeking a Head of CDM and Principal Design to join their dynamic and fast growing team in Newcastle.

The Head of CDM and Principal Design Role
As the Head of CDM and Principal Design, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of CDM and Principal Design professionals. You will work closely with clients, managing the delivery of CDM services across multiple sectors, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, and driving design risk management processes.
The successful Head of CDM and Principal Design will
1. Lead and manage a team of CDM Advisors and Principal Designers.
2. Oversee the delivery of CDM services, ensuring high standards across all projects.
3. Act as the Principal Designer on major projects, providing strategic oversight.
4. Develop and implement CDM procedures and best practices within the team.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and design teams.
6. Provide expert advice and guidance to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
7. Lead on the preparation of pre-construction information and review construction phase plans.
To be considered for this role, you will need
8. A NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
9. Extensive experience in CDM and Principal Design roles, ideally within a consultancy environment.
10. Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations.
11. APS or IOSH membership (desirable but not essential).
12. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
