Curb is looking for an experienced Plumber/Gas Engineer to provide a high quality and efficient service, carrying out new installations of kitchens in properties owned or managed by Link Group or within service agreements to other organisations.
The Plumber/Gas Engineer will be based in and working on our stock throughout Central Scotland. All undertakings will be in line with statutory requirements, regulatory and technical standards, customer expectations and organisational procedures.
We are looking for applications from qualified plumbers/gas engineers who demonstrate high professional standards, especially in respect of quality and customer service.
The Plumber/Gas Engineer will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of plumbing and gas works related to the installation of new kitchens including:
1. Disconnection of existing pipework
2. Alterations and installation of new pipework
3. Installation of kitchen sinks
4. Alteration to gas pipework
5. Disconnection and reconnection of gas cookers
6. Disconnection and reconnection of gas meters
7. Carrying out all relevant testing and paperwork
The successful postholder will carry out work in a safe manner in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Link’s Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.
About You
As an experienced Plumber/Gas Engineer, you will have an NVQ/City & Guilds in Plumbing or equivalent qualification. Proven experience in a similar plumbing role is essential and the postholder will have a sound technical knowledge of domestic plumbing systems including fault diagnosis and rectification.
You should have full domestic A.C.S. Qualifications to include; CPA1, CENWAT, CCN1, CKR1, City & Guilds NVQ (ACS Aligned) Level 3 or equivalent. For natural gas domestic installations and be Gas Safe registered.
You will be able to demonstrate experience in the installation service and repair of gas systems and express knowledge of current gas regulations and the Gas Industry Unsafe situations procedures, combined with a sound technical knowledge of gas systems including fault diagnosis and rectification.
You will have a sound knowledge and awareness of relevant Health and Safety requirements and an understanding of legislation and how both impact on method of work and customer needs. Knowledge of and a commitment to excellent customer care is required for this role and as Plumber/gas engineer you will also have knowledge of a variety of traditional and non-traditional construction methods, materials and installations.
This role requires a current UK driving licence.
