Project Manager - 6 Month FTC
Department: PMO (Project Management Office)
Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract
Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Reporting To: PMO Lead
Description
We're looking for a skilled Project Manager to join Bede immediately on a 6-month fixed-term contract, playing a key role in delivering successful business initiatives. You'll work closely with global clients, managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment and ensuring seamless delivery.
This role requires someone who can hit the ground running, with flexibility in working hours to support our clients across CET time zones. It's a great opportunity to bring fresh ideas to the table and drive impactful change from day one.
This is a hybrid role that requires you to be in our Newcastle-upon-Tyne office two days a week. Please apply only if you're comfortable with this arrangement.
What you'll be doing
1. Manage projects end to end, ensuring we meet our client's expectations by delivering projects on time, on budget and to the highest quality.
2. Actively maintain project plans, milestones and deliverables.
3. You will be the primary point of contact for clients surrounding the coordination of tasks related to the successful delivery of development.
4. Monitor and report on project status, clearly communicating with key stakeholders.
5. Effectively manage risk - including reporting and following accurate escalation paths.
6. Work closely with PMO leadership to define and implement governance standards across the portfolio.
7. Ensure that all cross-functional and complex business initiatives are planned, monitored, and tracked from requirements scoping until post-go-live support.
8. Coordinate and conduct post-implementation retrospectives and identify lessons learned, feeding carry-forward items into the programme plan.
9. Any other required duties that are deemed reasonable to the role.
What we are looking for
1. Proven track record in a software development environment, managing projects through the entire lifecycle.
2. Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to adapt approaches based on project needs.
3. Comfortable working flexible hours to accommodate client schedules in CET and project demands.
4. Experience managing complex projects and challenging stakeholders, maintaining clear communication and strong relationships.
5. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and proactively address them.
6. Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and resolve conflicts effectively.
7. Hands-on experience with Jira, MS365, and Google Suite.
8. A highly organised and self-sufficient approach, capable of driving progress with minimal supervision.
9. Experience in Lean and Kanban principles would be an advantage.
10. SCRUM qualifications are desirable.
What we can offer you
Here at Bede, we offer a great benefits package and a competitive salary as you would expect from a forward-thinking and people-centric organisation. What sets us apart is our desire to look after our people in the best way we can and to ensure we are offering the best to our colleagues by asking for feedback, so you'll be pleased to know our benefits package is always being reviewed.
