Project Support & PMO
The Role
The TalkTalk Consumer business is embarking on an industry leading transformation journey to provide best in breed full fibre to the nation, with a clear mission and vision to be the most recommended connectivity provider in the UK.
Within the Transformation function you will act as an ambassador for outcome driven and value-added transformation, through effective delivery support of your assigned portfolio. Everything you and the delivery teams do contribute directly to the Consumer Business Strategy and 5-year plan.
Given the nature of the role, it will focus heavily on delivery excellence, which is more than just administrative support. The role requires a lateral thinker, who can manage multiple critical demands and planning accountabilities at any one time, as well as driving performance using effective project and programme controls
The Team
The role sits within the Transformation Directorship, enabling delivery against our ambitious 5-year strategic plan. You will report via the Portfolio Delivery Leads, into the Head of Transformation Delivery, who sits on the Transformation leadership team.

Job Details
The Project Support & PMO role is a critical role within the Consumer Business portfolio management team, and foundational to execution of the 5-year strategy, through
* Working with your assigned delivery manager(s) to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and driving the agreed business and customer outcomes.
* Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day progression of the project and keeping an eye on its administrative tasks and controls.
* Working on your specified projects in conjunction with other team members and create an agreed-upon timeline and schedule.
* Checking in with the team to receive updates on the progress throughout the life of the project, and to ensure that initial goals and priorities remain intact.
* You will support the portfolio delivery leads with delivery tracking throughout a project’s timeline, along with the budget, and any other relevant information required to manage the delivery of in-flight activity.
* You will lead smaller projects in your own right where appropriate to deliver agreed objectives and benefits.
* You will also perform various administrative tasks, ad hoc, to support onboarding of project resources, taking minutes from project boards and steerco’s as well as providing support in tracking risks, issues, dependencies, POs, and financial tracking
Accountability & Project Support
* Responsible for supporting local planning and designing of the assigned projects across the respective portfolios, taking direction from the Portfolio Leads. Proactively monitoring project progress, resolving issues / blockers, and initiating appropriate corrective action, or escalation through the Transformation Governance Model in place.
* Support the project & portfolio leads in providing efficient reporting updates into the wider corporate governance, Portfolio Boards, Transformation SteerCo’s, Operational Boards, and other ad hoc forums, as required.
* Identify & support the project team in documenting dependencies of varying complexity and planning, which will be fed into larger strategic roadmaps and other portfolios as required.
* Support the PMO by ensuring current and future projects are delivered in line with best practice project management techniques, understanding and leveraging the defined multiple delivery methodologies, as appropriate to ensure consistency in delivery.
* You will provide administrative support to the project and portfolio leads to ensure key forums are minuted, collateral and steerco packs are collated, and sense checked in time, ahead of senior leader reviews.
* Ensuring cost control is in place, raising PO’s and allocation of funding in conjunction with the controls standardised by the PMO team
Planning Support & Administration
* You will act as a key assurance conduit between project delivery and portfolio reporting, to ensure that not only are delivery controls in place, but standards of delivery are consistent between your assigned portfolio and others.
* Documenting the core control decisions made during project forums, around risks, issues, dependencies, and commercial decisions, which require change control.
* Will support the portfolio leads, in conjunction with PMO to facilitate and feed into the quarterly plans, key performance indicators (KPIs), objectives, and key results (OKRs).
* Support the wider project leads with their respective feeds into forward planning / annual planning, in cadence with the QBR process to set goals, establish metrics, and review the previous quarter’s achievements and points of growth / lessons learned to carry into future QBRs.
* Facilitation of regular touch point reviews using local governance to track task, project, and milestone progress against the quarterly plans.
Project Assurance
* Conducting project health checks to assess the status of a project or program and identify areas that need improvement.
* Ensuring that projects, programs, and portfolios are aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives.
* Ensure project risks, are documented and controlled in line with the agreed policies and change framework.
* Ensure projects remain on track to deliver intended financial benefits and outcomes project progress and status to stakeholders, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring that stakeholders are satisfied with the project outcome.
Project Controller
* Reviewing assigned project’s deadlines and budget with the project manager, ensuring they have everything need to support Portfolio reporting and delivery demands.
* Coordinating payments to subcontractors and vendors in line with project demands, ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Analysing and reporting data to develop a complete and accurate picture that will inform decisions regarding the management, quality, and control of projects.
* In conjunction with portfolio & project leads, support the effective engagement relationships with 3rd party vendor and outsourced partners.
* Actioning and supporting the feed of upcoming pipeline of activity and work packages, through your portfolio structure, into outsourced partners ensuring portfolio’s budget, schedule, and resources are adequately formed.
