D.M. Wills Associates Limited is in search of a Project Designer/Civil Engineering Tech in our Transportation Department.
Reporting to the Department Manager, you will provide design services for the completion of engineering design assignments for private and public sector clients. You may also be in the field for various types of pre-engineering investigations and/or inspections, or surveying.
This job is well suited for a Civil Engineering Technology graduate with a passion for engineering and a desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
* Creating contract drawings using AutoCAD, InRoads, and Civil 3D design software for highway and road-related projects.
* Drafting technical reports.
* Completing field reviews.
* Preparing cost estimates and quantity calculations.
* Preparing tender documents.
Significant Qualifications/Experience:
* Civil Engineering Technician/Technology Diploma.
* Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or InRoads.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe.
* Strong communication skills.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent work ethic and ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
* Excellent time management skills to meet project timelines.
* General knowledge of Ontario Health and Safety Act.
* General knowledge of various design standards and requirements, such as OPSS and OPSD.
