Job summary
Newly refurbished practice in North London is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and forward thinking GP to join our existing dedicated and friendly team to help us with our growing list size.
Main duties of the job
Responding to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.
Doing patient consultations face to face, via telephone or online
Prescribing medications
Shared On-call duties as per a rota
Home visits where clinically indicated
Assist the practice in completion of QOF and other local enhanced service targets
Completion of Medical reports
About us
The practice provides services to a patient population of around 7,000 in a affluent suburban area in North London. We have an excellent complement of administrative and nursing staff including; 1 practice nurse, 1 physician associate and 2 clinical pharmacists. We are a high achieving surgery in all clinical and quality areas.

2. Newly refurbished clinical room for the new GP, new waiting room and new patient calling system
3. CQC compliant premises with excellent transport links to London, Hertfordshire and beyond. 5 minutes walk to a tube station.
4. GPs work closely with the PCN and hold the PCN directorship.

5. In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, insurance forms and correspondence in a timely fashion.
6. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
7. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
8. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
9. In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
10. Providing counselling and health education
11. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
12. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
13. Collecting data for audit purposes, coding accurately for QOF, ECF, and IIF targets.
14. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
15. Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
16. In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
17. The post holder will be given dedicated QOF, ECF And IIF domains and dedicated management time in which this work should be carried out. Progress against these targets will be monitored and discussed with the GP partners.
