English Graduate Teaching Assistant - Full-Time Role in Stockport
Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Stockport. This full-time position is available for an immediate start and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.
This role is ideal for an English graduate or someone with a strong background in English literature or language, who is eager to gain experience in a secondary school setting. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in developing their literacy skills, contribute to English lessons, and work closely with the English department to improve learning outcomes.
Responsibilities:
* Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in delivering English lessons, ensuring students remain engaged and understand key concepts.
* Small Group and One-to-One Interventions: Work with students who need additional help with reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
* Resource Preparation: Help prepare and organise teaching materials to enhance lessons.
* Exam and Coursework Assistance: Support students in their preparation for GCSE and other assessments, helping them develop strong analytical and writing skills.
* Behaviour and Learning Support: Ensure a positive learning environment, helping students stay focused and motivated.
* Progress Tracking: Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform lesson planning and support strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
* A Degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, or a Related Subject: Ideal for those considering a career in teaching.
* Passion for Education: A genuine interest in supporting students and improving their literacy skills.
* Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
* Adaptability and Resilience: Willingness to work with students who have varying levels of confidence in English.
* Experience Working with Young People (Desirable but Not Essential): Prior experience in a school setting or working with children is an advantage.
