***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE***
Working from Visitor Reception based in the car park, you are the first and last person visitors will see at Benthall. You will be greeting all visitors, welcoming them to the site, checking National Trust membership cards, taking admission with cash and card payments, sharing what is on offer at Benthall, orientate and highlight our walks and answer general queries. As a representative of the National Trust, you will also promote membership and donations to help with the fundraising efforts for our property. You will be working 855 hours during your contract. Weekend and bank holiday work is part of this role.
Salary: 12.75 an hour
Contract/duration: 855 hours from start of contract to November 2nd 2025
Hours/working pattern: Working to a fixed rota covering 7 days over a 14 day period. Weekend and bank holiday work is part of the role.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
What it's like to work here
The seat of the Benthall family for over 1000 years, Benthall is home to a 16th century house and gardens set in the heart of Shropshire. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with an enthusiasm for delivering great customer service. We are a small team at Benthall, so you may be asked to chip in at times in areas outside of your normal routine.
What you'll be doing
With high presentation standards and an eye for detail, you will be keeping the visitor facilities clean and presentable. You will help with our fundraising efforts through the sale of donated goods at visitor reception and directing visitors to the second-hand bookshop. There will also be an opportunity to assist with an expanding programme of events at the property, including Easter Adventures, performances and craft fairs.
