Procurement Category Manager - MRO & Capex - Leading FMCG Firm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) and Capex Procurement Category Manager to join a leading FMCG company with a strong presence across the UK. With headquarters in the Midlands, this company is known for its commitment to operational excellence and innovation, and is now seeking a strategic Category Manager to oversee the MRO and Capex spend.
Reporting directly to the Head of Procurement, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing procurement category strategies, delivering cost savings, and optimising supplier relationships. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in ensuring the company's capital investment projects and operational supplies are effectively sourced and managed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Category Strategy: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the MRO and Capex categories, aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
* Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the best value for money, reliability, and innovation in line with company needs.
* Cost Optimisation: Drive cost-saving initiatives across the MRO and Capex categories, identifying opportunities for value creation and process improvement.
* Contract Negotiation & Management: Lead negotiations for key supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in procurement category management within MRO and Capex, ideally in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
* Strong track record of delivering cost savings and value through strategic sourcing.
* Excellent supplier management skills, including the ability to negotiate and influence at a senior level.
* Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
This company offers a competitive salary of £60,000-£70,000, alongside a comprehensive benefits package and flexible, hybrid working arrangements.
