About the Role
Colchester Medical Practice, an established, successful practice and primary care network, is looking to appoint an experienced part-time permanent clinical coder and QOF administrator to join our experienced and expanding coding/QOF team. We require you to work 25 hours a week, working Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day at Castle Gardens Medical Centre. The hours are flexible and would suit someone looking for school hours; for the right candidate, we would also consider hybrid working i.e. working both at Castle Gardens and at home.
This is not an entry-level role, so you will need to have previous experience working in a similar position.
Your main duties and areas of responsibility will be:
1. Coding clinical documents accurately within a 48-hour timescale.
2. Forwarding clinical documents to clinicians following the practice protocol.
3. Carrying out clinical document follow-up actions following the practice protocol.
4. Quality outcomes framework (QOF) - you will be responsible for allocated QOF clinical indicators to achieve targets for the practice.
About the Candidate
We are looking for candidates who have experience in clinical coding/QOF/EMIS web clinical system for this specialised role.
The candidates we would welcome applications from:
1. Experience of clinical coding in a GP surgery or hospital.
2. Experience of QOF work in a GP surgery.
3. Experience of working in a GP surgery in any role.
4. Experience of working in the NHS in a similar role.
5. Completed clinical coding course, self-funded but not yet put into practice.
We are looking for the following qualities:
1. A strong attention to detail, ability to work to a high standard and at a fast pace.
2. Ability to manage own workload, but will have the support of the coding/QOF team and line manager.
3. A team player, flexible and able to cover when coders are on annual leave or sick.
