Senior Quantity Surveyor - Facades
Salary up to £70k + great benefits
Based in Uxbridge
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facades Quantity Surveyor to join a construction business based in Uxbridge.
As a Facades Quantity Surveyor, you will carry out surveying duties and functions on a range of projects, including high-end residential, high-quality hotels, student accommodation, offices, hospitals, etc., as well as traditional residential and commercial developments. The role will include developing close inter-relations with the Client and Sub-contractors and maintaining profitable projects. Candidates will also be responsible for the supervision and management of site and trainee surveyors on various projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Attend tender handover meetings on secured projects and take responsibility for all relevant cost information.
2. Form contract budgets from tender information calculating total profit/loss forecasts.
3. Carry out monthly budget monitoring, updating budget for works in progress.
4. Provide interim cost and value reconciliation, monitoring cash flows for projects.
5. Prepare and agree interim Applications for Payment and Final Accounts, all aspects of measurement.
6. Procure subcontractors, including obtaining agreement on rates, measurements, and placing subcontract orders.
7. Prepare and compile subcontract documentation with appropriate orders.
8. Implement subcontract payment controls, evaluating contract works, variations, materials, contract charges, and claims.
9. Record confirmed verbal instructions that have a cost and/or time effect to ensure their recovery.
10. Keep record of site progress, with photographs, written records, marked-up drawings, and collection of data, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
11. Monitor progress and report on delays with Notices of Delay to Client, including preparation and submission of prolongation costs for payment.
12. Liaise and coordinate with all business unit departments to improve all levels of communication to benefit and develop the company's objectives.
About You:
1. Strong commercial and technical knowledge to align with key accountabilities.
2. Proven track record of managing commercial staff across multiple sites.
3. Experience in residential and commercial sectors using differing construction systems.
4. Motivational individual - good leadership qualities.
5. Good sound contract knowledge and experience in various subcontract types.
6. Managerial experience - track record of managing commercial staff across multiple sites.
7. Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and policies.
