Maternity Manager

The Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a highly motivated, qualified, and forward-thinking Maternity Manager.
Job overview
Responsible for day-to-day operational management of the ward or department. Provides professional and managerial leadership. Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Manages staff, rotas, and undertakes recruitment and selection. Promotes positive patient experience, leads local quality initiatives, and explores opportunities for service improvement. Holds and manages budget.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will have overall responsibility and accountability for the management of the ward or department, providing a dynamic leadership role within the team.
2. Ensuring effective communication and engagement is maintained at all times, ensuring regular team meetings and opportunities for staff at all levels to contribute to decision making.
3. Able to make effective decisions autonomously without supervision and in partnership with patients, families, and the multi-disciplinary team.
4. Support the Matron and wider members of the Divisional Management team in achieving the strategic objectives for the Division and the Trust.
5. Demonstrate strong leadership and act as a role model for the midwifery team, ensuring the delivery of high standards of evidence-based care.
6. Manage and co-ordinate a ward/department team, providing professional clinical leadership.

* Ability to assess, co-ordinate, and delegate workload
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife; currently registered to practice
* Evidence of post-registration education
* Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Midwifery
Experience
* Relevant recent experience encompassing a wide range of midwifery practice
* Evidence of previous management experience
* Understanding of ward budgets

* Willingness to adapt to a changing environment
